Features
| Feature | Description |
| Easy Connection | To access your data there is no need for you to create data sources or build SQL queries. Simply select your database, supply login credentials and you’re ready to begin working with your data in Excel. |
| Refresh | Whether you use one of the prebuilt reports, built your own, or have a report built for you, reports can be run and refreshed you can retrieve current data values with just a click of the refresh button. |
| Save As Values | When you need to share your report with others who don’t use Office Connector, use the Save As Values feature. This turns an Office Connector report into an ordinary Excel workbook containing static data in place of the dynamically linked data. |
| Save Data with Reports | Data in a saved workbook can be refreshed automatically when you open the workbook or the last queried values can be stored in the workbook and redisplayed. This enables you to work with a snapshot of your data and work disconnected from your database. |
| Query Wizard | With a designer license, the query wizard makes it a snap to create Excel queries that give you speedy access to live data. Queries can be used with “parameters” that give you the ability to interact with your data in real time. The dynamic data can be refreshed at any time, and rows are automatically added and removed to reflect changes in your data. Formulas and totals adjacent to the query are automatically filled-down and recalculated when data is refreshed. Create robust queries that can automatically bring together data from multiple tables, sort data, summarize, and filter data. |
| Function Wizards | Also with a designer license, function wizards guide you step by step making it easy to use Office Connector functions in your Excel formulas. |
| Powerful Worksheet Functions |
| Function | Definition |
| DBLookup | This function works like the VLookup function used in Excel and can retrieve data from any field or record in the database using the key values. |
| DBFind | This function is similar to DBLookup, but allows you to search for the desired data using any combination of criteria. |
| DBAvg | This function provides the average value found in a given field. A filter can be applied to limit the records that are included in the average. |
| DBMax | This function provides the maximum value found in a given field. A filter can be applied to limit the records that are evaluated. |
| DBMin | This function provides the minimum value found in a given field. A filter can be applied to limit the records that are evaluated. |
| DBSum | If you need to obtain the sum for a given field in the database this function can be used to compute the sum of a specific field in a table. A filter can be applied to limit the records that are included in the sum. |
| DBCount | Use this function to obtain the total number of records in a table or the number of records from a table that meet a filter condition. |
